Let's start off with boys being boys....at one of their favorite spots in the house, and hard at work making a patchwork carpet of blankets.
With Christmas right around the corner we had lots to do, including making gifts. Weston decorated plates and cups for grandparents and godparents, and had lots of helping mix cement and place mosaics on a frog stepping stone for "D". We even tried our hand at making a gingerbread house, but I won't show you how pathetic it looked when we were finished.
On Christmas Eve we had lots of friends over for crab cioppino....yummy! Tyge spent most of the evening checking out Blake, our newest neighbor (about two months old at the time). On Christmas morning I surprised myself at being the first one up, and had the monkey bread in the oven for breakfast before anyone else was awake. Weston was his usual grouchy self (he is not a morning person....wonder where he gets that from?) until he noticed all the presents under the tree.
Tyge mostly watched Weston unwrap everything, but he seemed just as excited with the end result. The rest of the morning and afternoon was spent putting together train track and playing "farmers".
After the holidays, things got back to normal....if there is such thing. Weston and Tyge have a morning ritual of sitting in their chairs, watching Curious George and drinking their milk in the mornings. Later that morning Weston got in trouble and I sent him to his room. I went in to get him only to find that he decided to play Chutes and Ladders in his bed. Weston also loves watching movies on "his DVD player" rather than on the big TV. Tyge has been running around since about the week after Christmas....deciding that walking is faster than crawling. He also eats anything....and usually in much larger quantities than what Weston eats!
The other day Weston went to Sears with his dad and came home with his very own welding hood and torch....told me he was "fixing his bed". He teaches Tyge all kinds of things too, like how to make car noises and drive them along the edge of the bathtub. And here's yet another picture of them, back in their favorite spot, looking out the window!
