Picture of the day.

Look who's talkin'

I get sidetracked with posting pictures and forget to tell you important things, like what Weston is saying now. He talks ALL THE TIME. We just have no idea what he is saying.

Wes has "mom", "mamma" and "ma-ma-ma-ma-ma" down pat. He also likes the word "up", and uses it most often when he is finished eating and wants out of his high chair. He says "da-da-da-da-da" alot when he wants his daddy, but he wont actually say daddy yet. Occasionally we get an "uh-oh".

This morning on our way to breakfast he kept repeating "epp-ah". So either he is picking up on the name of Avo's dog, or he has already been to one to many bars with his dad (all you portugeuse people out there know what I'm talking about).

What's up this week?

Another year older. Celebrated by indulging into this wonderful ice cream cake that my hubby brought me. And now trying to work off that ice cream cake with my birthday gift...a bike trailer. I'm not sure if it was for me or for Weston, but it's great so far. Two rides in and he is loving it. Today we even brought his sippy cup and snack along and he chatted to himself the whole time. Other good things...the daffodils are blooming. I love when the bulbs start coming out and the days get longer. Just like this picture....a boy and his dog out for a walk.

Good pictures are hard to come by these days.

No need to complain that my posts are getting few and far between...there is a lot to update all of you on, but very few pictures to document the last few weeks. Taking pictures of Wes is getting tough. He is always on the move. I have lots and lots of blurred smiles, but who wants to see those? Want to see what I usually see, here you go:
Yep, Weston running away in the opposite direction. He just picks a direction and goes. A couple days ago I followed him thru the field, almost all the way back to the pond before he decided he was tired and I had to carry him back. Now I have learned to grab the wagon before we leave the house.
On occasion I do get some pictures of his front side. Like when he wants to share a rock he has found...

or when he isn't paying attention. What else is new you ask? He is learning to eat with his own utensils. The fork is best because everything slides off the spoon before he makes it to his mouth. And he still loves all of his riding toys. He has recently discovered how to pop wheelies on his tractor, and ram his quad and dump truck into the couch, your legs or Flo.

A typical day in Weston's life.

Mornings start with a little vegging out, watching Sid the Science Kid or Little Bill. About 15 minutes in he wants his milk, and by about 30 minutes climbs off the couch and is ready to start the day. The kid has a hard time waking up...wonder where he gets that from????
Collecting things is his newest passion. Doesn't matter what it is, be it putting as many toys as he can fit in a nightstand drawer, or takings things out of drawers (like Dad's socks) and piling them up in random places.
Driving the pick-up is one of his favorite ways to pass the time. This works out well since we head about a mile down the road each day to feed our cows. Wes gets to sit on the center console on the ride there and he "drives" while I put out hay. And yes, we do make sure that the window is down and keys are in my pocket so I don't get locked out. If the cows aren't hanging out down by the manger Weston gets to go for a 4-wheeler ride to check fence and make sure they are all still around. He giggles when you go up the steep hills.
Many afternoons are spent chasing the cats. Surprisingly they don't mind when he catches one and pulls on them. Oh, and he has also gotten quite good at grabbing Flo's tongue when she is giving him kisses, but I haven't yet gotten that one on camera yet.

The day is often finished by taking all the Tupperware and canned goods out of the cupboards while mom does the dishes. Sometimes he finds an interesting choice for dessert. And there you have it...a typical day in the life of one perfect little boy.
