Outside man.

Weston can usually be found climbing the fence trying to either get in with the cows, or get a better look at them. He is soooooooo not afraid of them and will walk right up to any of them. Good thing we have nice cows that lick him. Even our newest mama cow lets us come right up to her and her new heifer calf for an ear rub. Yesterday he thought that he needed to load his tractor into the trailer. Ok, I'll admit he isn't perfect, he gets into trouble. A lot. I am amazed at how stubborn he can be when he does or doesn't want to do something. The tantrums are easily ignored, and after a minute he realizes that no one is paying attention to him and quits. I've started sending him to his room if he flat out disobeys. He usually screams for a minute or two, and then I'll open the door and he'll come and give me a hug as if to say he is sorry. Although one night he we was in there for well over an hour because 1) every time I would open the door he wouldn't stop screaming, or 2) would stop screaming yet go right back to throwing his Lego's at the TV which is why he was in trouble in the first place. Daddy has a special way of making Weston feel really, really bad about what he did. Danny will talk to him about what he was in trouble for, and he will just stare back, hang his head, rub his eyes, barely tearing up with this terrible look of sadness on his face. It's hard not to laugh.
But like any kid, he snaps out of it quickly, and a Capri Sun makes him feel better and get back to his normal self.

State Fair

Friday afternoon we visited the Oregon State Fair. Weston still likes looking at the cows more than any other animal, but he was somewhat interested in the pigs this time. He also found every piece of equipment he could possibly climb on.
And was a little annoyed that he couldn't get on the antique tractors.By the end of the afternoon he was ready for a long nap.

What happened to my baby?

This last week I realized that I no longer have a baby on my hands, but a full blown toddler. Probably a good thing, since I will have a baby again in just ten short weeks (slightly looking forward to having a kid that doesn't try to get away when I need to change his/her diaper). But where has the time gone? Weston is a mix of independent boy and cuddle bug/mamma's boy. First thing in the morning we sit on the couch, side by side, him with his apple juice, me with my hot tea, watching cartoons for thirty minutes or so. Takes us both a while before we are fully woken up, but when he is, watch out. Once he's ready for the day, he's outta here. Literally, I have a runner on my hands that I can barely keep up with.

Big enough to sit at the kitchen counter for his snack....Likes to "help" clean the bathroom....shortly after his cabinet cleaning he moved on to washing one of his toy trucks in Febreeze. The whole living room smells great. He helps mom in the garden, and dad with his various projects, including getting forms made and the ground ready to pour some concrete on the side of the house.
When not raking or shoveling dirt with his own tools (thanks to Great Grandma Barnes), he likes to bring his loader and trucks out to play.
His creative side includes water painting....

Still loves to run off with our phones, although in this case I caught him texting rather than talking to someone.

Play date

Weston already has a great buddy to hang out with, Jeremiah who just turned two. Recently he got to come over and play while his mom took his older sister to register for school. First they swapped toys back and forth between each other. Next they rode the 4-wheeler...both climbed up there on their own.
Next they looked for the cows.

And lastly, they were happy to have Hannah come back from school registration so they could both ride in the wagon at the same time.
