Snow!

On Wednesday morning we woke up to quite a bit of snow, by Thursday morning we had a lots....and I missed most of it!  This week I had to spend two days in Portland for work meetings and Danny was left in charge at home.  On Thursday morning I was sitting in my meeting when he sent me this picture.
By the time I got home later that afternoon the sun had been shining for a while and most of it was melted, but I was able to get a little bit of play time in with the boys before it got dark!

Maybe I put a few too many chocolate chips in the pancakes.....
No doubt that these two are a lot alike!

Go fish.

Not sure if anyone noticed in the Wordless Wednesday post from last week, but if you look closely at the picture of the boys brushing their teeth, you'll see Weston has on his big boy underwear.  For months I debated on how I was going to potty train him, since he has had zero interest.  Every once in a while I would ask if he wanted to wear some underwear or use his potty, but I always got a big fat "no" in response.  Then about two weeks ago he decided out of the blue that he wanted to wear his Thomas the Train underwear.  We had about four days of semi-frequent "accidents", but for the most part he had made the decision that he was ready to be a big boy and use the toilet.  He quickly decided that diapers were "yucky" and didn't even want the pull-ups at night.  The whole process was pretty fast and easy, and so I told him if he went a whole week without any accidents he could get a fish, since he always asks for one when we go to Walmart (the promise of a walk past their fish tanks buys me at least an hour of good behavior before we get there).

So on Friday we went to town and he got to pick out the tank, gravel, plants and most importantly, the pirate ship.

He continued to do great using the potty, so on Tuesday afternoon we went fish shopping.  He picked them out himself thanks to a patient employee that caught them out of the larger tanks, and we brought home "Nemo 1, Nemo 2, Nemo 3 and Nemo 4" (he's not real creative with names yet).

Sharing some crackers while they waited to add the fish.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Bull sale

A couple of Saturday's ago we took the boys to their first bull sale at Rock'n D Ranch.  Both of them really enjoyed the day....Weston spent most of his time trying to figure out which animals had "tomatoes" and which ones had "utters".  Tyge sat through the entire sale, perfectly content watching the bulls go through and helping Heather write down the prices.

They actually had such a good time that neither one of them wanted to leave and Danny had to carry them out....both kicking and screaming.

February....and March.

Haven't posted in a while, so here are some things that the boys have been doing.

Weston taught Tyge to stick out his tongue.
Cookie monsters....now I have two helpers in the kitchen.

While we were on vacation, Weston and Tyge split their time between staying with their Grandma and their Ava.  One of them taught Weston that when you go through a drive-thru you get a toy with your meal.  I learned this recently when we pulled up to A&W and Weston immediately asked what kind of toy he was getting.  So I broke down and purchased their version of the Happy Meal (I used to get away with buying a box of chicken strips and they could share my fries).  I don't know what concerns me more....that Weston now associates fast food with toys, or that fast food restaurants are now giving out shot glasses as toys.

We've been out working cows.....Weston didn't want his picture taken and Tyge wouldn't take his eyes off off the heifer in the chute.

They also got to tag along when we took the bulls to OSU Vet school to get semen tested.  Weston was really impressed by the goat with the bandaid on it's neck.

They share the kids table now.  Tyge is finally big enough to sit with his brother....playing with play dough or easting breakfast!

Last Saturday we had a nice sunny day so we headed down to our local park.  Tyge soon figured out how to go down to the slide....head first of course.

After all the playing, some days they both prefer to take their naps in "mommies bed".
