Just add plants.

Today Weston helped his dad finish my second raised bed.He then proceeded to collect a handful of sticks and plant them...it almost looked like he was putting in grafted vines or trees. After he was done with his planting, he would congratulate himself and start all over. So cute!!!

Mother's Day

It was a great weekend at the Meneses house. Lots of sunshine and time spent out in the yard. Danny spent a lot of time making two raised beds for my garden. Weston had a front row seat for the entire process. Like usual, Weston had a front row seat for the entire process. He runs from the shop to the house, then to the shop, then to the house...sometimes bringing me bolts, a wrench, or something else that he stole from his dad.
Wes found a worm and thought it was the coolest thing ever. He attempted a couple of times to put it in his mouth, not sure who to listen to...Dad telling him "eat it" or me telling him "yucky".
I came out of the bedroom tonight to find Weston sitting on the counter with two chocolate zucchini muffins. I now know why he likes his dad so much more than me.

Update! Update!

So it's been a while since I posted anything and I thought it was time to update you about what's been going on this last month.

First we had Easter. We spent the holiday at home this year and attended two egg hunts in town. The first one didn't go so well as Weston had no idea what to do. He didn't get any eggs but after the hunt was over a little girl shared a few of hers. He had more fun on the slide anyway.

The second egg hunt was at church, where they had a special section just for him, he figured out how to pick them up and put them in his basket this time. Then we started swim lessons. Two days a week, for five weeks. The first couple times were great. Wes would do whatever we were supposed to do (float, kick, etc.). By the third week all he wanted to do was practice climbing out of the pool and jumping back in. Fine when we got to the point in each class, but not cool during the rest of the class when he is doing nothing but whining and reaching for the side of the pool. In the end he got his certificate and we'll probably do it again next spring, when he is old enough that I don't have to get in the pool with him.

We made a trip to California in mid-April to meet his new cousin Alexis. He had a great time playing with Reese too and got to spend lots of time with his Ava.

Lately the weather has been getting better and we have been spending more time outside, which he loves. Vocabulary is starting to expand too...whenever he sees cows, horses or sheep (ours, our neighbors, or driving down the road) he says "oooooo". Like he can't get the M out. Every once in a while he gets the M out and says "Moo", but most of the time he repeats "oooo, oooo, oooo". He also thinks throwing the ball for Flo is great fun, he calls her "Foh". He calls all dogs Foh. Lately he has been giving the dog and cats kisses if he hasn't seen them for more than a few hours. This week he is addicted to the word "uh oh". Says it for everything, but that is better than "no" which was formally his favorite word.

The only other big news around the Meneses household is that Weston will be a big brother in November!
