Fun filled weekend!

Today Weston enjoyed his first Pioneer Picnic Grand Parade. Fun was had by all...although he doesn't look to thrilled in this photo.
On the way home he managed to pull the stuffing out of his worm. Yesterday Danny gave him his first beef stick to gnaw on...he thought it was great for a good ten minutes, but then I think he maybe got a taste of the pepper in it.
He continues to climb on anything and everything.
He also is a master escape artist, particularly when you are trying to get a diaper on him. After his bath tonight I realized I needed to open a new box of diapers. He quickly exited his bedroom and headed to his saucer for a little late night play time.

Today on our walk back to the pond to check on the heifers, the whole darn family had to come along. And we are puppy sitting for the neighbor for a few days....he is not staying!

Also had to share a picture of my vegetable garden. Over the weekend Danny helped me with some much needed weeding and this year we decided to test out using straw to prevent them from growing back. Nothing is as big as I would like yet (blame the cool weather), but everything looks healthy now.

Update

My last post indicated that Wes gets to the step and usually whines until we come rescue him. Not anymore. Only took one try with a little encouragement from Dad. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-srTEZTs6E

Another milestone!

Yesterday Weston's first tooth appeared! Probably explains why he hasn't been sleeping all the great the last couple of nights. Today we had his six-month check and he now weighs 20 pounds, 2 ounces. He is 27 1/2 inches tall and in great health. As compared to other babies he is in the 80% percentile for his heigth, weight and head size. He loves to stand up now and sits up on his own for longer periods of time. He is really moving fast too, except when he gets to the step and whines "help me!".
Playing with my mommy's toes is always a fun game. Let's just hope it doesn't turn in to some sort of weird foot fetish like the wacko Tanner guy on The Bachelorette (I know, I watch too much TV).

See a trend here...he likes his crab and didn't want to part with it after bath time.

Happy half-Birthday!

Six months flew by sooooooo fast! Wes is still changing every day too. Just in the last two days he went from barely crawling to zooming across the living room. He still loves the outdoors and now prefers to sit-up in his stroller so he can see what is going on. He's already curious about everything...especially if it is something you are holding.
Already unloads all of his toys...the basket is more interesting anyway.
And thinks sitting up is pretty cool now. He's turning in to a little boy already and won't be my baby for much longer.

Another video

I think we can officially say that Weston is crawling. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9AucjpTVFs. He may not be as coordinated as you might expect, but I'm sure it will come in time. For now he is happy just getting to wherever it is he may want to be.

Fence building weekend

We spent most of the weekend putting up fence around the pond. The grass was getting really tall so it was time to get it done. We were able to turn out the heifers last night and they seem to like it out back. Wes spent most of the last two days being carried around in his baby bjorn backpack...good thing he likes it.
