First bath with a plastic baggie on a limb.

I'll admit it, while on the phone with Grandma I wasn't paying close enough attention to what Weston was doing and he got too close to the pellet stove. Bad Mommy. Now, with that said, it isn't that bad. We just have to keep his fingers wrapped up for a few days. And this probably won't be the last time that we will be relying on Ziplocs and rubberbands at bath time.

My little genius.

The best part of Christmas....

Family.

Christmas...again and again and again.

Weston got to celebrate Christmas and open presents multiple times. First, at home before we left for California, next with mom's family on Christmas Eve (minus Grandma & Grandpa) and on Christmas day with breakfast with the Weststeyn's and crab cioppino with the Menseses'. We came home with way too many toys, but he had lots of fun.

Trying to get into the presents before it was time to open them....
Loving his new backpack from Uncle Josh and Aunt Liv and his new ATV from Aunt Tami... Yet another riding toy (good thing he loves them) from Great Grandma & Great Grandpa W.More intersted in the box of course...and he loved playing with the parts, but after Danny got the spring/bouncy horse put together he has since wanted nothing to do with it (really big and high off the ground). As he grows I know it will become more popular.

Rolo's and Santa Sliding

Weston likes chocolate, need I say more?

And we made a trip to visit Santa. There was no crying involved, and Wes even showed some curiosity about the (too skinny to be the real thing) man in the red suit. However, after placing Weston up on his lap he immediately made his best effort to wiggle and slide away from the jolly old feller. But all is good because I got to eat his free candy cane.

Party, Party, Party!

We had a great birthday party for Weston last Saturday...he wasn't sure about having so many people in his house, but slowly he warmed up to the idea and was running right along with all the other kids.

He was spoiled with tons of gifts but the best part was having family come from far away. Grandma got to stay for a few days, cousin and godmother Alexx stayed with us for the weekend and Tia Julie and John made a quick road trip to come to the party.

One year old.

Wow, can't believe Weston's 1st birthday is tomorrow...seems like yesterday that he was just born. Enough said.

Christmas Tree Hunting

Had a nice sunny afternoon so we headed out in search of the perfect tree.

Weston was right there making sure Dad got it nice and straight!

So far Wes isn't interested in the tree unless you are doing something to it....but that may all change once the lights and ornaments are hung. We'll see how the decorating goes tomorrow.

Gobble, Gobble

Thanksgiving was just the three of us, however we tried our best to get in all of the traditional activities including:

Browsing the black Friday ads. Or in Weston's case; ripping them into shreds and hauling them around in this dump truck.
Thanksgiving feast. Yeah, this may look like how we typically have our dinner every night, but notice that our plates are piled high with good stuff. No fancy table, but we did eat enjoy turkey with all the fixins.
After feast nap and football watching. And finally, more football along with slipping into our jammies and letting our bellies hang out.

Walking Weston

Finally, a video of Weston walking. I apologize for the temporary blackness during the middle of this video shoot, but it gives you an idea of how much he likes bath time.

Very first haircut

Last Saturday (yes, I know I am lagging on my updating responsibilities), Weston had his first haircut. He sat incredibly still for the entire thing, even the buzzing trimmers part. Amazing I know. He now looks like a little boy, my baby isn't a baby anymore.
And one day, if I ever get my computer fixed I will upload a video of him walking around like a monkey. He is getting the balance thing down OK...as long as he waves his hands up and down his sides and head, hence like a monkey.

A very Happy Halloween

For his first Halloween Weston dressed as a giraffe. Surprisingly he didn't mind the costume and was happy the whole night.
Trick or treating demanded a car ride, since we don't live in town. We stopped at a few homes of friends.
Here he is on a doorstep, our neighbors Madison and Stephanie did all the doorbell ringing for him. I'm sure he'll take on a bigger role in the process next year.

He was anxious to find out what he had in his ghost bag...
which Daddy ate all of, except for a few shared bites.

Master at getting into places...

Milestone

Weston took a few steps on his own tonight. No, I did not get it on video...stay tuned.
The days are getting shorter and wet...which is actually making my days really long since less daylight and more rain mean staying inside. Weston always wants out as you can see...

Had to get the famous mohawk look going. A bath is one of his favorite things and when you tell him "bath time" and start walking towards the bathroom, he will almost beat you to the tub. Wes is so proud of himself when he does something like crawling in the laundry basket or tub all by himself.
Feeding himself is nearly a must, and he has figured out that if you put something on a spoon and hand it to him, the spoon goes in his mouth. He doesn't always have good aim, and sometimes he has a little too much fun, like he did here with his oatmeal.

Fall is here!

It was a beautiful Saturday so we headed out for Weston's first visit to the pumpkin patch. It took a while before he would let me set him down, but once he figured out that the big orange things wouldn't hurt him, he was crawling all over them.
